Ian Watt
Principal
Ian Watt has an extensive background in independent school education in Ontario. After graduating high school with his OSSD from Upper Canada College (www.ucc.on.ca) and his subsequent BA from Queen’s University (www.queensu.ca), he began his teaching and administrative career within some of Canada’s leading private schools. Ian’s academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, a Bachelor of Education (www.brocku.ca), and a Master’s of Arts in Leadership (www.royalroads.ca).
He has held senior leadership positions in major Canadian schools, and served as Director of one of Canada’s oldest and largest residential summer camps. He developed and currently instructs the Principal Qualification Program – Independent School Focus for the Faculty of Education at York University (www.yorku.ca).
Interesting Facts: Ian is a multiyear provincial and Canadian Whitewater Kayak/Canoe team member, and two-time national champion. His nickname is also the namesake of a Star Wars character.
